Impermanence

TheEliteExtremophile Impermanence is a great record that blends many of the sounds of progressive rock’s heavier acts, like Porcupine Tree, King Crimson, and VdGG. Every song on this album is a strong composition, and they work even better as a unified whole.

distant planet Groundbreaking prog rock. Influences could well be: Anekdoten, Anglagard, VDGG, Gentle Giant and King Crimson but the music contains a unique identity of its own. Introspective acoustic moments blend with aggressive prog riffs and intense melodies. Favorite track: Like Shards of Glass Falling Through My Fingers.
Nickie Harte Kelly

Nickie Harte Kelly An impressive offering from a young UK artist, Here he brings a full band plus Hammond organ, mellotron, synthesizers, keyboards, violin and viola and also flute and saxophone. He’s a gifted acoustic and electric guitarist, using mostly hushed vocals, to convey a sense of introspection. The music veers from soft melodies, with choir-like voices, to hard hitting angularity, sort of a crash course of classic progressive music, yet keeping firmly to the present.
Favorite track: Like Shards of Glass Falling Through My Fingers.

nakatari Hi Dominic. Heard this via a mate and immediately purchased the album, EP’s and Singles. What a fantastic, emotional album! Reminiscent of 70''s prog rock. I’m reminded of King Crimson, Porcupine Tree/Steven Wilson, Anekdoten and perhaps Anglagard, but it has all been created with a modern, original sound. Keep the music coming! Ray

1.
Is this what you wanted? To be where you are now Was this your intention? Happy? Is there understanding? What have you done now? All the repercussions Forget Darkness It controls me It dictates me I cannot be free
2.
(Your cards have been processed, your pins in the map, keep your eyes forward, no turning back, your path has been programmed, you're well on your way, don't look around now, no-one can stay)
3.
Nail the doors and windows shut Too late for me now Sat here in this empty room I'm blinded, can't see How long? Fall through the gaps in the floor Disappear from view Feel, what is there left to feel? There's nothing to do How long? (Where is the life I used to know?) (Is there a time to bring it back?)
4.
Life lies redundant No heart, just shame Dark, dark cells, dark lines Out of hope Rage stings like razors No sight, just pain Fall, fall through, fall down Out of range It doesn't matter Time changes all Fear turns to anger Watch how I fall Is this what you wanted? To be where you are now Is there understanding? What have you done now?

1) Fear within you Loss within you Joy without you Soul masked in gloom Doom within you Hell within you Strength without you Soul masked in gloom 2) Step toward the light Give up the fight Open your eyes Light up the skies Make yourself free Of iniquity Cast out the sin We'll bring you in Don't lose yourself Don't lose all hope 3) And further and further into the deep vortex Of hopeless endeavours and useless ideas And darker and darker the night wraps around me The voices of reason can no longer find me And closer and closer the echoes move inward The fragmented voices they haunt and compound me And deeper and deeper into the foul swampland Of lost, broken memories and grim salutations And meeker and meeker I grow in the face of A power beyond me, its wrath it controls me
7.
Infinite night Silence in rain Lost all the fight Silence in pain Feel the cold light Hanging in air like ghosts Words left unspoken The sounds I fear the most Tearing at my disguise Shapes haunting shadows The dark behind my eyes Biding their time Photos of a past life Remind me of my crimes Problems stay just change Waiting in the silence Disappearing out of range Where is the me I used to know? Just gone Is there a time to bring him back? All wrong Where is the life I used to know? Not now Is there a time to bring it back? The weight of these years Crying in slow motion An eternity of tears Empty useless shell Mind filled with blackness My own private hell Maggots crawl within Eating away the darkness Pollute transparent skin Dark metallic glass Instruments of death The debris of my past Where is the me I used to know? Just gone Is there a time to bring him back? All wrong Where is the life I used to know? Not now Is there a time to bring it back? Where is the me I used to know? Just gone Is there a time to bring him back? All wrong Where is the life I used to know? Not now Is there a time to bring it back, somehow?

about

A musically conceptual album rooted in the traditional progressive rock sound of the 70s with a modern edge. Recorded, mixed and mastered independently, a great number of excellent musicians have given up their time to help craft my compositions and make this album what it is.
